Hi everyone! My name is Mariana; I’m from Brazil. I’m married and I have a 3-year-old son called Benjamin. And I’m also a lawyer.
In December of 2017 my family and I decided to move to Paris, and we lived there for one year. Now we have been living in London since January.
After two months in Paris I met a Brazilian girl who’s helped me a lot with many important information, and she made a huge difference in our quality of life there. In the middle of many challenges you have many difficulties. Like how to learn about the culture, manners, traditions. You have to deal with loneliness but on the flipside, you have a world… entire world of possibility
Here in London we met some Brazilians who lived here for some time and they helped us a lot, and still help nowadays. And we have a group who is growing, and we share many tips like discounts, where to eat, where to go. This contact with other expats is very important because they’ve already overcome many problems so they can share with you many tips.
Finally, my advice to those who are coming to live abroad is: be prepared to leave your comfort zone and keep in touch with as many people as possible and don’t be afraid, just ask but make sure to double-check all the information.
